Him & Her / Hip Kit Club DT

Hi Creative Friends!!! I’m back today with a new Main Kit Only layout for Hip Kit Club DT featuring the stunning January 2022 kit.

I absolutely wanted to use the awesome ‘Expectation’ pattern paper for this layout so I ripped it in half to use only one half which I glued onto white cardstock on the left. I added a piece of the « Dream » pattern paper underneath, making it protrude only a little bit to create a limit.

I then sewed with white DMC thread a few lines in an arc of the “Expectation” pattern paper to add texture. I then coated the other part of my page with clear Gesso and then I added Shimmerz Inklingz Plum Crazy in the center, forming a destructured circle.

As it’s the week of love, I added a photo of my husband and me in black and white so that it stands out well against this very colorful background that I pasted in the center after adding a piece below of purple patterned paper. And then it also needed hearts of course, the symbol of love. So I made three hearts with the help of the Fancy Mixed Metal Dies which I used with the other half of the “Expectation” pattern paper.

I placed the hearts around the photo and stitched their centers to have hearts that lift up and add volume and movement. I used three small Wood Chipboard hearts that I glued to the center of the other paper hearts. I used the Puffy Alpha Stickers to add the words « Him » and « Her » above and below the photo and on the right I inserted Die Cuts « Be Amazing », a heart and two trios of hearts as well as the number 2 Puffy Alphabet Stickers.

I finished this layout with splatters of black ink to provide contrast.

I hope this layout inspires you today in some way. I really had fun making it. I love the interplay of texture with the seams and volume with the hearts. This is really the page I had in mind for this week to place under the sign of love.
