Hello Creative Spirits !!! I’m back today with three refreshing cards for Paige Evans’ design team featuring Paige’s « Go The Scenic Route » collection and her « Cocktail » cut files from the « 20 Days Of Summer Cut Files » bundle from last summer ! I wanted to give a little wink to the summer season and the holidays! What could be better than « Cocktail » cards for that ?
I first used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the designs and used « Go The Scenic Route » # 21 pattern paper to trace, cut out and fill the cocktails. I also used tracing paper to fill in the outline of the cocktail glasses to create the illusion of the glass.
Then I used watercolor paper to make the backgrounds of the cards. I applied Distress Oxide inks (Carved Pumpkin, Barn Door, Mustard Seed, Lucky Clover, Picked Raspberry) using two colors on each barckground, which matched the colors of the cocktail glasses. Then I glued these backgrounds on the cards cut from papers # 24 and # 5. Which brings out the watercolor backgrounds. Then I sewed a black frame with my sewing machine on each card and glued each cocktail glass with 3D foam, in the center.
I finished by adding the words « Enjoy, Relax and Let’s Chill » with a black puffy alphabet from my reserve, to bring contrast then I splashed the whole thing with black ink and finally I added drops of « Glossy Accents » by Ranger for a drop of water effect!
Here are some additional close-ups:
Hope this will inspire you for a future project! I had fun making them! Thanks for stopping by and have a day full of creativity!
