Shine, Shine, Shine…/Hip Kit Club DT

Hi everyone !!! I’m back today with a new layout for the Hip Kit Club design team made with the May 2021 kits and the May 2021 exclusive « Shine Bright » cut file as well. I first used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the « Shine » design in several batches from the stripe paper from the « Keeping It Real » collection by PinkFresh Studio. The colors of this paper are beautiful so I selected this color gradient which is just perfect. But first I coat a white cardstock with clear Gesso before adding the Shimmerz « It’s Mint To Be, Blue Grass, Magenta and Pink A Boo » inks. So I put a little ink on the piece of rodoide then I put it in the desired place and with a wet brush I rectify the area, making sure not to protrude too much from this rectangle of ink. And I do the same for each color.

I then place the cuts on their color, alternating with the different cuts. Simply the letters then just the outline and both at the same time. I find it cool to play around with these three ways to use a cut file like this. And then I glue every word. I only glue the center of the letters and the outlines to be able to then pick up the extremities and thus give movement to this layout. On the other hand for the outline and its letters, I glue the outline in full and then add the letters inside with 3D foam, this will create volume and I then sewed the center of each word with black thread ! But I did not sew the letters in 3D. I find it great that the letters can stand up, it brings a lot of movement and volume, I love it!

I layer my photo with crumpled tracing paper and a piece of yellow patterned paper to make the photo stand out from the background. I distress the edges before gluing it and add pieces of cardboard for volume and glue the photo in the center, askew. I add these beautiful flowers to the Embellishment kit. These are die cuts from the Wonder collection by Paige Evans. Then I add several flowers that I cut from a Pinkfresh Studio « Keeping it real » printed paper from the kit and also die cuts that I cut from the same collection. I glue them with 3D foam then I add flowers on the photo on each side by adding a little touch of yellow. I also decorate the background of my page with still small flowers cut out.

I add Pinkfresh Studio die cut phrases « so many feelings, Seriously, A little pick-me up » from the main kit. I glue the flowers on my photo with and without 3D foam. I’m still adding Pinkfresh studio die cuts : The heart, the phrase that I cut, and the pointer and more flowers. I add some Enamel Dots here and there. And I finish with splashes of white Gesso to bring light and to tie it all together !
