Hi creative friends !!! Here is a layout made for Hip Kit Club with the February 2021 Kits and one of their « Tile Lace » cut files from March 2021. To start, I cut the file twice with my Silhouette Cameo, in a cardstock white, in 6×6 inch format. I wanted pretty thin patterns and this format was perfect.
I then coated a white Cardstock with transparent Gesso. I tore the cutouts to have unstructured shapes and I stuck them on my background, from left to right, to create a path. I added a little piece at the bottom of my page on the left. Then I applied a second coat of Gesso, with a large brush, making circular movements so as not to make any demarcation and to have gesso everywhere.
I love this technique which allows you to make original backgrounds. We can use any file! I prefer to use files with fairly fine patterns. I added the inks. I used Shimmerz Creamez Dandy-Lion and Vibez Sweet Heart inks. I applied them on the reliefs previously created.
I then add my photos after having matted them with crumpled tracing paper and then yellow and pink PL cards. I then decorated with flowers and lemons around my photos. I added the title « Smile » die cuts from the kit, which matched perfectly with the photos and colors. This kind of photo that I take when I ask my loves to give a beautiful smile! I like to add these photos on my pages because they really represent the reality of the moment!
I continue with small clusters of decorations on the right of my page and at the bottom left on the relief. I finish the decoration with different small Puffy Stickers Simple Stories and Pinkfresh Studio chipboards. I do some touch-up ink and add Gosh Garnet Shimmerz ink to create shades and tie the other colors together. I also add a little ink on the flowers and lemons to add shine.
I finish with black ink splashes to add contrast. I like the way this layout took. That’s exactly what I wanted. A colorful and flowery page, everything I love. More close-up :
I hope you liked this page and that it inspired you for a future project. You could see the video of the process right here:
