Hello Paper Lovers !!! Today is a layout made for Hip Kit Club with the Hip Kit kits from February 2021 and one of their exclusive cut file from March 2021 « Mandala ».
My mission was to use a cut file as a stencil and this file was just perfect that. I wanted a masculine page and the February kits have colors that lend themselves so well!
To begin with I therefore cut with my Silhouette Cameo the cut file in a brown cardstock (cardstock color that I do not use!). I then laid out the « stencil » at the top right and applied Modeling Paste Matte Tim Holtz. I started the process again at the bottom left of my page. Then I brushed the 2 prints with white Gesso to prepare the background for the watercolors.
I used the Shimmerz Tickle Me Turquoise ink for a light blue then I added Distress Stain Chipped Sapphir for a darker blue and bring shades of blue! I did not cover all of them with ink to have a more destructured and less clear effect!
All that remains is to add the photos and the decoration. I used a cluster of PL card in blue / red / brown tones from the kit under my photos. For the photos, I used a PL card with 3 boxes, perfect for inserting my photos and giving a booth photo effect. I pasted them all in the center of my page. I then added a cluster of word labels / die cuts / word alphabet on each side of my photos on the Mandala print. And some die cuts at the top and bottom of my photos, always in red and blue tones.
I added printed paper circles of different sizes on the mandalas to bring light and blue and red Enamel Dots for a color boost. I added sticker phrases to the corners of my page in front of the mandala and ended up with smudges of black paint for more contrast.
I liked how it went this layout with this perfect color combo for a male page. Here is more close-up:
