Hello Paper Lovers !!! Today here is a layout made with the « Krystal » collection by Félicity Jane and the cut file « Make Your Own Sunshine » by JustNick. I love floral printed papers and the one in this collection is really superb with flowers in very subtle pastel colors! So I couldn’t help but cut them all out.
I then coated a white cardstock with transparent Gesso to prepare it for watercolors. I cut the cut file with my Silhouette Cameo from the collection’s wood-printed paper and I cut the offset of this cut file with white cardstock so that this sentence stands out more when glued on it.
I continued with the background of my page. I started by gluing the printed wood paper that was left on the top of my page, leaving a bottom part in white cardstock. I bleached the printed wood paper with white Gesso to create a halo that will make my photo stand out and the decoration around it. On the lower part I used Twinkling H20’s Rose Petal and Sandollar inks to create a pastel-colored halo reminiscent of flowers. These are old inks that are no longer found I think but I love them so much with their iridescent rendering.
I inserted my photo which I surrounded with flowers. I added the sentence and some die cuts, tag and hearts. I found that the upper right corner was empty, so I cut a part diagonally and put flowers in it and put inks in the background. I sewed the ends of the printed wood paper with my sewing machine and black thread. And finally, I splashed black paint for more contrast.
This is exactly the result I was hoping for !!! A page with very soft colors, beautiful flowers, inks just perfect for this collection. I love Felicity Jane’s collections because they all fit together so well. I am very happy with the end result!
I hope you enjoyed and inspired you today with this layout. You can see the process of this layout here:
