Hello paper lovers !!! Today here is a layout made for Hip Kit Club. I used the January 2021 Hip Kit and one of the January 2021 exclusive cut files.
To start, I cut the file 2 times, with floral print paper and with watercolor paper. I coated a white cardstock with transparent Gesso to prepare it in inks for the background of my page. I used Shimmerz Christmas Cheer and Lindy’s Red Hot Poker orange inks (old color kits) to create a sparkling orange halo in the center of my page.
I inked the watercolor paper cut file with Shimmerz Inklingz Precious Posey, Vibez Snow Way Man (January 2021 Color Kit) and a tip of Lindy’s Magical Sweet Violet Purple Teal to have a very dark purple, only making the outline so that when I would glue the printed cut file flowery above, offset, there is a purple edging to highlight this cut and give it relief! So I assembled the 2 cutouts then I stuck it in the center of my page with 3D foam by sliding a photo under it to play on the depth and to fill the hole and also because I wanted to integrate 3 photos into this layout.
I also stained 3 watercolor paper flowers from the January 2021 color kit with the same purple mixture on 2 flowers and the last one with Shimmerz Inklingz Naughty or Nice to have a soft pink.
The work of inks is finished, we move on to the decoration! So I added the other 2 photos at the top of the cut file on the right, after filling them with crumpled tracing paper and purple printed paper. I glued them with 3D foam covering them a bit. I added the flowers, a violet at the top, in the middle of my photos and the other 2, at the bottom left. I didn’t shape them very tight so that it was too tall and too thin.
I added « MY DARLING » and « #justyou » with the white and purple alphabets of the kit as well as puffy buttons, Cardstock stickers words and orange frame, Chipboard flowers and butterfly. I found the page to be a bit blank around my layout so I cut my page at the top and bottom, added black striped white paper in place which I machine sewn and j ‘ve added flowers and button. And right away, it changes drastically without stifling the layout too much!
And to finish this layout, I splashed it with black paint for more contrast and because I love to finish my pages with a few black drops! Here are some more close-ups:
Hope you enjoyed this layout and maybe it inspired you for a future project. Here is the link to the video of the process of this layout:
