Dream Big / Hip Kit Club DT

Hey everyone !!! I am sharing my first layout as a member of the Hip Kit Club design team !!! It’s incredible !!! I never thought I would one day be part of this team !!! I still do not believe it !!! I am so happy and honored to be part of this team and to create alongside this bunch of very talented girls !!! Okay, back to this page …

I used the January 2021 Hip Kits and one of the exclusive « Dream Big » cut files. I cut this file in a white cardstock to be able to personalize it. I used the gray paper from the kit as a base for the background of my page. I tore it in 2 to have 2 pieces of gray paper, one in the upper left corner of my page and the other in the lower right corner.

I wanted to create a color path between the two papers and that’s what I did! I first used a white cardstock which I coated with transparent Gesso. I applied the Shimmerz Inklingz Precious Posey ink mixed with Vibez Snow Way Man from the kit, diagonally, from corner to corner to create this path. I then used the same ink mixture with Modeling Paste and I applied the tinted paste with the stencil over this path, tone on tone. It really brings texture and relief!

I glued the 2 pieces of gray paper on either side of this purple path. The background of my page is finished, I continue with the decoration. I personalized the cut file with the same colors as the purple background, tinting only the middle and degrading towards the edges. Then I stuck it in the center of my page with 3D foam. I love that the cutout melts a bit into this path, that’s what I wanted. We have the impression that we have torn the paper to bring out this cut!

I inserted my 2 photos, after having matted them with crumpled tracing paper and pieces of light and dark purple paper, diagonally, above and below the cutout. I cut out all the Floral Fantaisy papers from the kit to have only the flowers and I inserted some here and there, on either side of my photos and the cutout. I added a sentence with the kit’s white puffy alphabet to complete the cutout one that I glued directly onto it. A few Chipboards and lots of white and black ink stains, and my page is finished!
