Happy Monday Creative Spirits !!! Here is a layout made with the December kit by Hip Kit Club. I wanted a page with lots of flowers so I used their June 2019 Floral Clusters cut file. I started by cutting this file out of watercolor paper with my Silhouette Cameo. I then applied the Shimmerz inks from the kit (Shimmerz Christmas Cheer, Inklingz Oakie Bear Blue and Inklingz Naughty or Nice) on these flowers by making a gradient of blue and pink to match the paper I chose.
I tore the blue / pink gradient paper which is just beautiful in half, vertically. I stuck half of it on my page (previously prepared with transparent Gesso) on the left side. I used one of the stencils from the kit to add more texture and continue the fence on my photo. I applied the pattern several times to the right side of my page with Modeling Paste.
Then, I inserted my photo in the center of my page after having matted it with crumpled tracing paper. I like the texture it brings. I added a cardstock frame from the kit under my photo. I glued all my flowers respecting the gradient of the paper and playing with the relief using 3D foam.
I added the title with the beautiful Metallic Puffy Alpha Stickers from the kit. I inserted a few white leaves and Metallic hearts in the flowers. I found that the right side of my page was too white! So, I added ink above and below my title. I finished with black ink stains for contrast.
And here is a flowery page with very soft colors that go so well with my sweet! I love this kind of page with flowers, a beautiful paper which is enough on its own and mixed media of course !!! I made my first process video with this layout !!! I wanted to do it for a long time and it’s done! I still have a few adjustments to make but for the first time it’s pretty good, right?!! You can watch my video using the link at the end of the post!!!
Hope this gives you some ideas for trying to use Mixed Media and cut file. Thank you very much for stopping by & have a good week!
